The Backyard Shop

Manteca, CA · 501(c)(3) nonprofit

The future of American manufacturing is not a factory from the past. It's a working shop where people learn, build, and ship together.

That's what The Backyard Shop is.

The workforce trains here. Hardware teams scale here. The community builds here. All three are the mission.

We exist to rebuild American manufacturing capability through three programs: workforce training that produces employable machinists, an incubator that helps hardware companies scale locally, and public access that puts real tools in community hands. Each program funds and strengthens the others.

This is not a concept space. It's loud. It's active. And things leave here finished.

American manufacturing doesn't come back by talking about it. It comes back by building. And this is where that happens.
